सावळा गोंधळ sāvaḷā gōndhaḷa m (सावलें Poor and mean लुगडें & गोंधळ; or see derivation under the next.) A shabby and make-shift गोंधळ q. v.; a गोंधळ performed in poor or the ordinary attire. 2 See सावळेंगोंधळें.

सावळेंगोंधळें sāvaḷēṅgōndhaḷēṃ n sometimes सावळगोंदें or धें or साव- ळेंगोंदें n (A free and expressive formation from सावळा गोंधळ q. v. or from गोंधळ A tumultuous festivity, and सावळा A yea and nay sort of color, a color not determinately black nor determinately white.) Explanation or satisfaction after a sort; patching up matters in some poor way: also the agreement or understanding so effected: undecided state (of a litigation or a disputed, argued, or investigated matter): indeterminate complexion or character (of a decision, an arrangement &c.): indefinite, equivocal, confused, and unsatisfactory quality (of a transaction or an act generally). 2 Confused and contaminating intermingling of सोंवळे & ओंवळे, pure and impure &c.; promiscuous encountering of the castes, and licentious disregard of the ceremonies and particulars prescribed to distinguish them.
